Bears Defense Dealing With Injuries To Secondary
4 years agoChicago Bears defensive back DeAndre Houston-Carter (concussion) exited the wild-card playoff game against the Saints on Sunday with a head injury and is being evaluated for a concussion. Meanwhile, the Bears ruled defensive back Sherrick McManis (hamstring) out for the second half. Chicago's secondary was also missing cornerbacks Buster Skrine (concussion) and Jaylon Johnson (shoulder) due to injuries, leaving their secondary very vulnerable against Drew Brees and a dangerous Saints passing attack that got top wideout Michael Thomas (ankle) back from Injured Reserve to begin the playoffs. Despite the injuries, the Bears Defense held the Saints to just seven points through two quarters. They'd face a daunting matchup against the division-rival Packers next weekend if they can spring the upset over New Orleans.
