Bailey Ober Strikes Out Nine In No-Decision
6 months agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober pitched six innings of one-run ball in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Mariners. Ober allowed just two hits and three walks while striking out nine batters, but did not factor into the decision. It was the 28-year-old's third straight quality start, although the prior two games both came against the Athletics. The Mariners and the A's are the two teams that strike out the most in the majors, which propelled Ober to his strong results over the last three games: 2-0, 1.69 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and a 5:27 BB:K in 21.1 IP. The righty gets another favorable matchup his next time out when he faces the Tigers at home next Thursday. The Tigers have the fourth-lowest team batting average in the majors.
