Down 4-1, the Maple Leafs were staring into the face of defeat in the third period, when Matthews sparked a massive comeback with a pair of goals. He made it a one-goal game, and Toronto eventually won the contest and grabbed a 3-1 series lead with strikes from Morgan Rielly and Alexander Kerfoot. Matthews is playing a key role in the team's efforts to win the first playoff series since 2004, having had multiple points in three of the four games played. He has tallied three goals and four assists in total.
