Austin Hays Could Miss A Few Days
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that outfielder Austin Hays' bruised right hand is "pretty sore" but feels better. Hays had to be removed early from the game on Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox after being hit by a pitch on his hand during a bunt attempt, but the hope is that he'll only miss a few days. Hays and shortstop Jorge Mateo (rest) are both out of the lineup on Wednesday against Red Sox right-hander Tanner Houck. X-rays on Hays turned up negative, so the 27-year-old should be able to avoid a trip to the injured list. Hays is off to a great start this year, hitting .301 (25-for-83) with six doubles, a triple, four home runs, nine RBI and a stolen base in 23 games played, so his fantasy managers will be hoping for a quick return as well.
