Austin Ekeler Sees Tiny Usage Against New Orleans
5 years agoIn the battle to be the team's possible starting running back, Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler barely saw the field in the team's second preseason game. That may be a good thing though, as Ekeler is already kind of seen as the favorite to win the starting gig with nothing to prove. Ekeler's known for his quickness instead of his power though, so it wouldn't be surprising that even if he is officially named the starter in Melvin Gordon's absence, he would likely carry a light load and regularly take breaks while Justin Jackson fills in. If his explosiveness can translate to heavier usage, Ekeler could be a surprisingly valuable back this season.
