First baseman/designated hitter Pablo Sandoval signed a Minor League deal with the Braves on Monday, which will see him report to the club’s alternate training site with the hopes of contributing over the final two weeks of the regular season. Sandoval was released by the Giants on Thursday after slashing .220/.278/.268 through 33 contests. Atlanta is fairly loaded at the first base/DH slot, but Sandoval’s experienced bat could be utilized off the bench down the stretch, albeit with little season-long fantasy intrigue.--Jesse Borek
