Aroldis Chapman Shaky Again, Records Ninth Save
New York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman recorded his ninth save of the season despite surrendering three hits and an earned run while striking out one during a 5-4 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday. In May, the seven-time All-Star has struggled, posting a 6.75 ERA, 2.25 WHIP, three walks, and nine hits with four strikeouts across 5 1/3 innings. Despite allowing runs in four straight games, the left-hander has yet to blow a save through nine chances. While Chapman doesn't appear to be in danger of losing his role as closer, it is worth noting the Cuban is boasting a 4.42 xERA, 25% K-rate, and 16.1% BB rate – all career-worsts – to start the 2022 campaign.
