Washington Capitals winger Anthony Mantha will miss his first game of the season on Sunday against Columbus, with head coach Peter Laviolette deciding to make him a healthy scratch for the contest. He will be one of the players to make way for Tom Wilson (knee) and Nicklas Backstrom (hip), who are both gearing up for their season debuts. Mantha's ice time has dropped with each passing month this season and he couldn't even get to the 10-minute mark last time out against Nashville. It's not been a pleasant campaign for him, with only nine goals and 23 points registered in 42 outings. Mantha will have his first chance to return Tuesday versus Philadelphia.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
