8 months agoTampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash said that catcher Anthony Bemboom (knee) will be out four to six weeks with a sprained ligament in his left knee, but he will not need surgery. Mike Zunino and Michael Perez are also on the injured list, so the Rays will have to make due with Travis D'Arnaud and Erik Kratz, who the Rays just traded for on Thursday. If Tampa's regular catchers are healthy, Bemboom will be back in the minor leagues. He had two hits and an RBI in his five-at bats this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
