Detroit Red Wings forward Andrew Copp (abdomen) won't be available for training camp but should be game-ready in the first week of the regular season. General manager Steve Yzerman announced on Wednesday that Copp had abdominal surgery during the offseason. The 28-year-old grinder enjoyed an impressive campaign in 2021-22, which earned him a five-year, $28.125 million contract with Detroit. He split the year between the Jets and the Rangers, posting career-high numbers in all of the major offensive categories with 21 goals, 32 assists and 53 points. Copp is set to center the second line in Motown, and we could see a big improvement from the Red Wings in 2022-23 after Dominik Kubalik and David Perron were also picked up to boost the offense.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
