Andrew Benintendi Falls Home Run Shy Of The Cycle
5 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi notched four base hits, two runs scored, a run batted in, as well swiping his ninth base during Saturday's win over Detroit. He needed a home run to complete the cycle. Benintendi had sat out the previous two games to work on some adjustments at the plate and they seem to have done the trick. Before Sunday's first-half finale, the 24-year-old is hitting .274 with a .788 OPS, while smacking just seven home runs to go with 37 RBI. Hopefully he can maintain those adjustments when the Sox return for the second half. Benintendi could be a great buy-low candidate who will continue to hit in the top half of Boston's order.
