Andres Gimenez Steals 16th Base Wednesday
1 year agoCleveland Guardians second baseman Andres Gimenez went 0-for-4 at the plate on Wednesday in the team's 8-3 win over the visiting Kansas City Royals, but he also walked, stole his 16th base of the season and scored a run. Gimenez has half of his stolen bases this season in the month of July while hitting .240 (18-for-75) with four home runs, four doubles, 10 RBI and 11 runs scored in 20 games played. The 24-year-old should continue to hit high in the batting order after the team traded shortstop Amed Rosario to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday as well. Overall, Gimenez is slashing .241/.311/.385 with nine home runs, 15 doubles, four triples, 38 RBI and 44 runs scored in 389 plate appearances (97 games).
