Anderson Tejeda To Get More Minor League Seasoning
4 years agoTexas Rangers infielder Anderson Tejeda was a surprise contributor to the club in 2020 but he'll open this year at the alternate training site. He had a solid showing in spring training by hitting 8-for-20 (.400) with three doubles and a BB-K of 3-8 but with Nick Solak at second base and Isiah Kiner-Falefa at shortstop, there wasn't enough projected playing time to justify keeping the 22-year-old at the MLB level. Tejeda showed some impressive power during his 23-game stint at the MLB level in 2020 with three home runs but his 39% strikeout rate left something to be desired. Prior to 2020, the rookie had not played above A-ball so some additional seasoning could help him cut down on the swing-and-miss tendencies.
