Alexander Wells Promoted To Baltimore
Alexander Wells was promoted to the majors on Friday, according to Nathan Ruiz of the Baltimore Sun. One of the top prospects in Baltimore's system, Wells struggled in his first four starts of the year at Triple-A, going 1-2 with a 9.88 ERA over 13 2/3 innings of work. He's looked much better on the mound over his last four appearances though, going 3-1 with a 2.45 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 18 1/3 innings of work. Wells will likely be used in the bullpen or as a spot starter, and as such his value will be limited early on.
