Alexa Grasso Retains Flyweight Title With Split Draw
2 years agoAlexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko put on an epic back-and-forth battle on Saturday for the UFC women's flyweight title in the main event of Noche UFC. Grasso's huge upset victory this past March set the stage for a big rematch on Mexican Independence Day. Shevchenko took the first round without much contention, however, the second was for Grasso after knocking down Shevchenko with a powerful right hook. The deciding factor that made this fight a split draw was the fifth round and a 10-8 score that didn't seem warranted at all. In 25 minutes of back-and-forth action, Grasso landed a takedown and 84 significant strikes.
