Alex Smith, Taylor Heinicke Could Rotate Against Tampa

Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera said that the team is considering rotating quarterbacks Alex Smith (calf) and Taylor Heinicke against the Buccaneers in the wild-card playoff game on Saturday. "It's something we seriously have to look at," Rivera said. Smith returned after a two-game absence in Week 17 due to a right calf strain, completing 22 of 32 passes for 162 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the win over the Eagles. But the veteran QB was favoring his right leg and struggled to move around effectively when pressured in the pocket. Despite improving Washington's offense drastically over Dwayne Haskins earlier in the season, Smith hasn't been very fantasy relevant. That should remain the case into the playoffs, especially if the 36-year-old remains limited by his calf injury.
