Alex Ovechkin Scores Twice In 4-3 Victory
5 years agoThe Minnesota Wild scored first but the Washington Capitals stormed back with the next three goals and came away with a 4-3 win on Sunday. Alex Ovechkin hit the 45-goal plateau for the season with his two goals. He also assisted on the third Capitals goal, which was scored by Richard Panik who had been on a 13-game scoreless streak. Tom Wilson also scored and has 42 points in 64 games. Evgeny Kuznetsov added two helpers and has surpassed 50 points on the season for a fifth straight year. Braden Holtby turned aside 37 of 40 shots for his third straight win. Kevin Fiala had a goal and an assist for the Wild. He’s recorded nine points over his past four games. Fiala has 20 goals and 49 points in 60 games on the year. Ryan Donato also scored a goal and has found the back of the net three times in four games.
