Alex Kirilloff Hits First Spring Homer
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Alex Kirilloff broke out of a slump with a 1-for-2 day that saw him clear the outfield fences in the second inning. The blast came against a very good pitcher in Eduardo Rodriguez of the Boston Red Sox. Kirilloff is just 3-for-16 with five strikeouts this spring as he chases a starting spot on the club's 26-man roster. He's competing with Brent Rooker and Kyle Garlick for the left-field job and the added ability to handle first base, which he played on Thursday, also helps his case. Kirilloff is ranked by Rotoballer as the fourth-best rookie in redraft fantasy leagues for 2021 and is the third-ranked rookie outfielder behind Randy Arozarena and Dylan Carlson.
