Alek Manoah To Throw Sim Game Thursday
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah will throw a simulated game on Thursday in Dunedin, Florida, and he's aiming to throw around five innings. Manoah will be facing Blue Jays players with the team's rookie Florida Complex League team in what will be a controlled environment. Toronto sent Manoah to the lower minor leagues after he produced a 6.36 ERA, 1.89 WHIP and an MLB-leading 42 walks in 58 innings over his first 13 starts of the year, but he's already showing encouraging signs as he works on his mechanics. There's no timetable for when the 25-year-old right-hander will return to the Blue Jays' rotation, and they'll likely want to see him face hitters in the upper levels of the minors first.
