Alek Manoah Making Progress In Minors
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider said that starting pitcher Alek Manoah has made encouraging progress in the Florida Complex League just a week after being sent down to the minors. After going 1-7 with a rough 6.36 ERA (6.52 FIP), 1.89 WHIP, a league-leading 42 walks and 48 strikeouts in 58 innings over his first 13 starts, the Blue Jays sent the 2022 All-Star to the rookie league so that he could work on his mechanics. The 25-year-old right-hander has yet to pitch in a game, but he's expected to face live hitters at some point this week. We'll continue to keep track of his progress once he begins pitching in minor-league games. Manoah will eventually be back in Toronto, but he's currently rostered in only 54 percent of Yahoo leagues after his demotion.
