Alejandro Rosario Tosses Seven Scoreless Frames
6 months agoTexas Rangers pitching prospect Alejandro Rosario had previously generated some buzz as a potential Day 1 draft pick last year but ultimately fell to the eventual World Series champions in Round 5. He relies quite heavily on his mid-90s fastball, but he throws a very effective low-80s slider, too. He has also done a great job cleaning up the bulk of his control issues from his time on the mound for the University of Miami, bumping up his K/BB ratio to an astounding 12.6. Last week, Rosario continued to shine, striking out six batters over seven scoreless innings. His lone blemish was a single. He's arguably overstayed his welcome at High-A and is inching closer to a Double-A promotion sooner rather than later.
