Los Angeles Kings defenseman Alec Martinez scored the game-winning goal in Sunday's 2-0 victory over Carolina. The game seemed to have been heading towards a rare 0-0 regulation result, but Martinez had other ideas, separating the teams with 17:47 played in the third period. Jake Muzzin and Dustin Brown had the assists on the play, and Kyle Clifford scored the team's second goal soon after. Martinez isn't an elite defenseman, but he does tend to pop up with a goal or an assist here and there. He's got nine points for the season in 27 games.--Taavi Pailk
