Alec Burleson a Late Addition to the Lineup
Alec Burleson (foot) to the batting order. He will start in left field and bat third against Rockies right-hander Bradley Blalock. Initially, the Cards had Brendan Donovan in left field and rookie Thomas Saggese starting at second base, but now Donovan will head to the keystone and Saggese will start on the bench. Burleson fouled a ball off his right foot in Monday's series opener and was pulled early as a precaution. Thankfully, X-rays came back negative. Especially in a hitter-friendly venue, fantasy managers will want to get the 26-year-old left-handed hitter back in their starting lineups. The former second-rounder has been consistent with a .289/.336/.464 slash line, .800 OPS, 12 homers, 44 RBI and 32 runs in 304 at-bats.
