Alec Bohm to Start Rehab Assignment on Sunday
Alec Bohm (ribs) will start a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer's Lochlahn March. Bohm is trying to return from a fractured left rib that has kept him out since July 19. It's unclear how many rehab games the 29-year-old will require, but if he's feeling good after games this weekend, there's a chance he could come off the 10-day injured to rejoin the major-league squad at some point next week. With Bohm sidelined, the Phillies have been mixing and matching at the hot corner with rookie Otto Kemp and veteran utility infielder Edmundo Sosa. Bohm still makes plenty of contact and has hit .278 (98-for-353) in 92 games this year, but his power has never been anything special and he hit eight long balls in 383 plate appearances before his trip to the IL.
