Alec Bohm Doing Baseball Activities
Alec Bohm (rib) was diagnosed with a left-rib fracture on July 19 and was placed on the 10-day injured list. Bohm is feeling better now, though, and ran, threw, took dry swings, hit off a practice tee and fielded ground balls on Tuesday before the game in Chicago against the White Sox, according to MLB.com. If Bohm can avoid a setback once he begins ramping up even further, he could come off the IL by mid-August, but he's likely going to require a minor-league rehab assignment first. For however much longer the 28-year-old remains out, rookie Otto Kemp should remain the team's primary third baseman. Although Bohm has hit a decent .278 (98-for-353) this year, he's been a disappointment overall with eight home runs and 42 RBI in 92 games after he was a first-time All-Star in 2024.
