AJ Pollock Becomes A Free Agent
2 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder AJ Pollock has declined his $13 million option for the 2023 season and has become a free agent. Pollock will receive a $5 million buyout and will now be free to sign with any team this offseason. The 34-year-old will latch on with another organization, but he could struggle to make more than $13 million on a one-year deal elsewhere after hitting a very mediocre .245/.292/.389 with a .681 OPS, 14 home runs, 56 RBI, 61 runs scored and three stolen bases in 527 plate appearances and 138 games in his only season in Chicago. Pollock remains attractive mostly in a platoon outfield role, as he had a strong .935 OPS with 11 of his 14 long balls against left-handed pitching.
