AJ Dillon Could Overtake Aaron Jones In The Backfield
1 year agoESPN's Dan Graziano says we shouldn't be surprised if Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon overtakes Aaron Jones in the backfield. The Packers love using Jones and Dillon in tandem. Green Bay was expecting a bigger passing-game addition from Dillon last year, but it didn't come to fruition. Jones is now 28, though, an age where RBs start to decline. Dillon is 25 and fits better long-term with the team's young offensive core that they are building around quarterback Jordan Love. Graziano thinks Dillon could start to see a bigger share of the workload this year over Jones, who has one non-guaranteed year left on his contract and carries an untenable $17.17 million salary cap charge in 2024. Jones is being drafted as a high-end RB2, while could pay off as a nice value pick as more of an RB3/flex.
