7 months agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright struggled on Friday, allowing seven runs on nine hits in 3 1/3 innings. He didn't issue a walk and struck out four, allowing one home run. The Cincinnati Reds jumped on Wainwright for four runs in the third inning and three in the fourth after "Waino" was able to put up two scoreless innings to start the game. It was likely a blip on the radar of what has been a somewhat impressively solid season for the veteran right hander. Even with this clunker, he'll take a 4.50 ERA into his next start. He's no longer near fantasy ace caliber, but he's still a decent depth piece in deeper mixed leagues.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
