St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright (elbow) was moved to the 60-day disabled list on Thursday. With Carson Kelly (hamstring) landing on the DL, the Cardinals needed to make a move to add catcher Steve Baron to their 40-man roster. Wainwright's move to the 60-day DL allowed Baron to be added. With the move, Wainwright now will be ineligible to pitch until July 14 at the earliest. This is big news for Jack Flaherty, who should be able to keep Wainwright's rotation spot for longer than perhaps originally expected.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
