Adam Frazier Played Through Finger, Shoulder Injuries Last Year
5 years agoPittsburgh Pirates second baseman Adam Frazier (finger, shoulder) revealed that he played through a broken right index finger and separated shoulder in 2019. Frazier said he broke his finger in spring training and separated his shoulder on Opening Day, but he didn't want the team to disclose his injuries and he played 152 games. Despite the injuries, Frazier performed very similarly to how he did in 2018, hitting 10 home runs for the second straight season while driving in a career-high 50 runs and stealing five bases. He hit .278 and is a career .279 hitter in four seasons for the Bucs. The 28-year-old is a better real-life player than a fantasy one, as he doesn't move the needle much in any one category. He's mostly an NL-only middle-infield target.
