Aaron Rodgers Could Jump At The Chance To Play For Rams
ESPN's Adam Schefter believes that New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is expected to be a post-June 1 cut by the Jets, would be thrilled by the idea of going to the Los Angeles Rams to play for head coach Sean McVay. However, for that to even be a possibility, the Rams and current QB Matthew Stafford would have to fail to work out a contract restructure for 2025 and then trade him to another team. L.A. would probably be able to sign Rodgers for a lower cost than what they'd have to pay Stafford, but that's assuming McVay and the Rams' front office would even want a 41-year-old aging QB that is probably heading into the final year of his career. Rodgers tore his Achilles in Week 1 of 2023 and threw for 3,897 yards, 28 TDs and 11 interceptions in a disappointing 2024 campaign for the Jets. There's no guarantee he'll be any better if he plays at all in 2025 for a different organization.

Ka'imi Fairbairn Remains a Strong Starter
Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn has continued to be a top kicker for fantasy football despite his team's 0-4 start to the season, and he will be a top option again this week in Tennessee. Fairbairn has made seven of his eight field goal attempts and all nine extra points this season, and he's coming off his best game of the year in Week 4, when he converted all three field-goal attempts and all three point-after tries. One of those field goals was from beyond 50 yards, and he remains an extremely reliable option for both consistency and upside due to his ability from long range. The weather could be a factor in Tennessee, so check the forecast before kickoff, but coming into the matchup, Fairbairn is the No. 4 kicker in RotoBaller's Week 5 rankings, so he can be started with confidence this week.

Dalton Schultz a Solid TE2 in Complementary Role
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz had a monster game in Week 2 without Nico Collins, but he has faded the last two weeks and only had two catches last week against the Cowboys in Collins' return to action. Schultz has played 63.4% of snaps this season for the Texans, with backup tight end Foster Moreau logging 40.7% of snaps. Schultz hasn't found the end zone, although he has had multiple catches in each game and has averaged 53.5 yards per game. That average is skewed by his 140 yards in Week 2, but he is involved enough as a pass-catcher to still bring upside this week in a divisional matchup against the Titans. Tennessee has been a top-10 defense against tight ends this season, but Schultz is still RotoBaller's TE18 this week, indicating he can be a solid second tight end option even though he isn't a strong starter in single-TE formats with Collins back to carry the load.

Xavier Hutchinson Not a Strong Option in Reduced Role
Houston Texans wide receiver Xavier Hutchinson was in a much smaller role in Week 4 with the return of Nico Collins after a hamstring injury. Hutchinson only played 17 snaps (31%) against the Cowboys after playing over 50% of snaps in each of the previous three games this season. Even with fewer plays on the field, though, he caught three passes for the fourth straight week. He ended up with 46 yards and finished second on the team with five targets despite his reduced playing time. With Kayshon Boutte struggling and Tank Dell (knee) still not ready to return, there is still a window for Hutchinson to seize the second receiver spot in Houston, but he'll need a big game against the Titans this week. Since his playing time was so significantly slashed last week, though, it's very hard to trust him this week, even in a favorable matchup against the Titans. Hutchinson is the WR80 in RotoBaller's rankings for Week 5, so he can be left on the bench or the waiver wire in almost all formats.

Kayshon Boutte Only a Starting Option in Deep Leagues
Houston Texans wide receiver Kayshon Boutte continues to settle into his new team's offense, but he has yet to make much of an impact since arriving in Houston. Boutte has totaled nine catches in four games for 115 yards and no touchdowns with the Texans, and last week, he caught three of his four targets for 36 yards. He did get more snaps than Xavier Hutchinson and Jared Wayne in Week 4, tying for the second-most snaps at receiver for the Texans, behind only Nico Collins in his return from injury. With Collins back as the focal point of the offense, perhaps Boutte can focus on his complementary role as a deep threat. He hasn't converted any big plays yet this year, and until he does, he's a hard option to trust for fantasy even in a favorable matchup like this week's against the Titans. In Week 5, Boutte is ranked as the No. 69 WR in RotoBaller's WR rankings, leaving him on the bench or the waiver wire in all but the deepest of formats in Week 5.

Jaylin Noel a Deep-League Sleeper in Growing Role
Houston Texans wide receiver Jaylin Noel remained very involved in his team's offense last week despite the return of Nico Collins as the top receiver. Noel works mostly out of the slot, so his snaps were consistent despite Collins' return. He finished tied for second in most snaps among Houston's receivers and caught all three of his targets for a season-high 85 yards against the Cowboys last week. Noel outproduced Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte despite fewer targets, and he seems to be building a solid connection with C.J. Stroud. This week, he gets a favorable matchup against the Titans' secondary, but Noel is still only the No. 62 WR in RotoBaller's Week 5 rankings. He's still a long-shot option this week, although he is building momentum in a growing role and can be started in deep leagues or in emergency situations.

Nico Collins Remains an Elite Option Against the Titans
Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins returned from his hamstring injury last week against the Cowboys and showed he is still the best option in the team's passing game. Collins only played 69% of snaps in Week 4 against Dallas, but led the team with eight targets and caught seven of those passes for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Collins has been outstanding in each of the two games he has been available, and this week, he gets a great matchup against the Titans, who have struggled to cover top outside receivers this season. Collins is the No. 6 WR in RotoBaller's Week 5 rankings and can be started confidently in all formats since he is such a focal point of the team's offense and should be ready for even more work after his successful return last week.

Chad Ryland Is A Serviceable Streamer For Week 5
Arizona Cardinals kicker Chad Ryland hit a 60-yard field goal in Week 4. It was his only attempt of the game and the longest field goal conversion of his career. Ryland also went 3-for-3 on extra point attempts. For the season, he is 8-for-9 on field goals and 9-for-9 on extra points. Ryland could see some extra action in Week 5, as the meeting between Arizona and the Detroit Lions carries the highest implied point total of the slate. The inherent irony in the matchup from Ryland's perspective is that Detroit's defense is so leaky that the action he sees will mostly be in the form of more extra point tries than usual. One way or another, Ryland is practically guaranteed to put points on the board in Week 5. He makes for a decent option for habitual streamers or fantasy managers whose usual kicker is on bye.

Trey McBride A Must-Start Against Lions
Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride experienced his least productive game of the new season in Week 4, pulling in just 31 receiving yards and finishing outside the top-10 at his position for the first time. He still reached double digits in the targets column and had seven receptions. Through four weeks, he ranks third in the NFL in receptions and targets. In Week 5, he is once again a favorite to finish as the week's top tight end in a smash spot against the Detroit Lions. The Lions' defense has given up 31.8 points and 327 passing yards per game this year and has been especially leaky against tight ends. Detroit has allowed the most receptions (37), the most touchdowns (six), and the second-most receiving yards (407) to the position in 2026. McBride is a week-to-week must-start, with the potential in Week 5 to be the overall TE1.

Woody Marks an Intriguing FLEX Sleeper in Week 5
Houston Texans running back Woody Marks is still in a timeshare with David Montgomery in the Texans' backfield, and neither back has been especially effective in the team's 0-4 start. Marks has found the end zone on short runs in each of the last two weeks, and he has also been the more involved option as a receiver out of the backfield. He's ranked as the No. 31 RB in RotoBaller's Week 5 rankings, which makes him a high-risk FLEX play in most leagues this week. He does have the potential for a big game, but his uncertain workload keeps him as a fringe option.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Due For Flex Consideration In Soft Matchup
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. caught his first touchdown pass of the season in last week's loss to the New York Giants. The 12-yard grab was also his sole reception on the day, giving him five catches for 85 yards and a touchdown through the first four games of 2026. Once the subject of discussions regarding who was the top wide receiver on Arizona's depth chart, Harrison has fallen far behind Michael Wilson, who has accumulated 30 targets over the last two weeks. Harrison, meanwhile, has 13 all season. For fantasy teams sticking with Harrison, Week 5 is as good of a matchup as one could hope for in the Detroit Lions. The Lions' defense has been porous, giving up 31.8 points and 327 passing yards per game. Harrison projects as a WR3 in a forgiving matchup and can be plugged into starting lineups for Week 5.

Michael Wilson In A Smash Spot Against Detroit
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson is in a good spot to continue building on his recent success. Wilson scored his first touchdown of the year in Week 3, and in his last two games has averaged fifteen targets, nine receptions, and 92 receiving yards. In Week 5, the Cardinals host the Detroit Lions, whose defense has been consistently ineffective through the first four games of 2026. The Lions have allowed opposing wide receivers the most receptions and third-most receiving yards this season, and gave up a 14-192-2 line to Tetairoa McMillan in Week 4. Wilson can't be expected to match that level of success, but his increased role in the passing attack provides optimism for a big day. Based on his recent performances and a soft matchup, Wilson has a WR1 ceiling in Week 5 and should be in starting lineups this weekend.

Tyler Allgeier A Potential Flex With A Good Matchup
Arizona Cardinals running back Tyler Allgeier experienced his most productive game of the new season in last week's loss to the New York Giants. In Week 4, Allgeier handled eight carries for 42 rushing yards, the most he has had in both categories since Week 1, and scored his first touchdown of the season. In Week 5, Allgeier could see an increased role if Arizona decides not to push Jeremiyah Love (ankle) too hard after the rookie dealt with discomfort in the same ankle where he suffered a high sprain during the preseason. It would be a great spot for Allgeier to see increased usage, as the Lions have one of the worst defenses in the league. Over four weeks, they are giving up 96.3 rushing yards and one touchdown per game to opposing running backs. Allgeier projects as an RB3 for Week 5, making him a justifiable start in a deep enough league or for a team plugging holes created by a bye week.

David Montgomery Hard to Trust in Tennessee
Houston Texans running back David Montgomery still has a high ceiling, but he has struggled to get going since his massive Week 1 debut for his new team. He started the year with a three-touchdown game against the Bills in Week 1, but since then, he has only averaged 5.2 fantasy points per game with 27 carries for just 65 yards (2.7 yards per carry). He hasn't found much space to work and hasn't gotten into the end zone in his last three games. He has been outscored in each of those three weeks by his teammate Woody Marks, who continues to split the backfield work with him in a timeshare that is about 50/50. Neither has had a big week since Montgomery's Week 1 as the offensive line struggles, so even this week's favorable matchup against the Titans isn't enough to make Montgomery a confident RB2. He's only RotoBaller's No. 20 RB this week, since there is so much uncertainty in Houston's struggling offense. He's still startable due to his touchdown-dependent upside, but his recent lack of production keeps him from being a locked-in option every week.

Jeremiyah Love In A Good Spot Against Detroit
Arizona Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love (ankle) was limited in practice this week while managing ankle discomfort stemming from Week 4's loss to the New York Giants. Love got a full session in on Friday, though, and does not have a designation for the Cardinals' Week 5 meeting with the Detroit Lions. Love is in a good spot to take another step forward in the first weeks of his NFL career. Love has not scored since his debut in Week 1, but in the last two weeks he has compiled 164 yards from scrimmage on 35 carries and six receptions. Tyler Allgeier may siphon off more work in light of Love's ankle discomfort, but Love himself should be effective against a Lions defense that gave up 122 rushing yards and two touchdowns to Chuba Hubbard in Week 4. Love is projected as an RB2 and should be in starting lineups for Week 5.

Jacoby Brissett A Top Streamer In Favorable Matchup
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett shot up the weekly projection rankings thanks to his Week 5 matchup against the Detroit Lions. The Lions' defense has been one of the NFL's least effective units in 2026, allowing 31.8 points per game, the highest first-down rate, and the most passing yards. Brissett has been one of the league's more prolific passers this season, putting up 38 pass attempts per game. He will likely be airing it out again in the hopes of being the fifth quarterback in as many weeks to record multiple touchdown passes and the fourth to record 300 passing yards against Detroit's porous secondary. In Week 5, Brissett should be locked into a starting slot in two-QB formats and is an attractive streaming option in one-QB leagues, especially for those fantasy teams whose starting quarterback is on bye this week.

C.J. Stroud a Borderline Starter against the Titans
Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is still trying to get his team its first victory of the season, and he is in a good spot to post solid stats this week against the Titans in Tennessee. With the run game often bogging down, Stroud has had to throw more this season, averaging 37.8 attempts per game with over 30 pass attempts in three of his four games. He have five touchdowns and no interceptions this season, while averaging 285.2 passing yards per contest. The Titans have allowed four passing touchdowns in four weeks to opposing QBs and an average of 220.5 passing yards per game. Last week, Lamar Jackson looked excellent against them in the first half before leaving with an injury. The Titans have allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points to QBs this season, but in a desperation game, Stroud is the No. 14 QB in RotoBaller's rankings for Week 5, making him a fringe starter in single-quarterback leagues and a very strong QB2 in dual-QB formats.

Eddy Pineiro A Solid Choice In Week 5
San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro was 3-for-3 on his extra points, converted one field goal attempt, and had another one blocked in last Sunday's win over the Denver Broncos. Pineiro's make from the field was on a 24-yarder in the second quarter. The block came on a 54-yard try at the end of the first half. He is 14-for-16 on extra points, leading the league in both conversions and attempts, and 4-for-6 on field goal attempts. San Francisco's ability to convert drives into touchdowns has robbed Pineiro of more opportunities to try the field goals that would be more lucrative for fantasy purposes. However, it bodes well for his prospects that his offense can consistently drive into their opponent's territory. In Week 5, Pineiro is worth starting in what should be a hard-fought divisional matchup between the 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.

George Kittle Remains Top Option Against Seattle
San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle's playmaking in Week 4 served as another reason for fantasy managers to no longer worry about the Achilles injury that he suffered in last season's playoffs. Late in the fourth quarter, Kittle caught a pass underneath and then carved his way through Broncos defenders for a 56-yard touchdown, putting the game out of reach. It was his fourth touchdown in the last three weeks and gave him his third consecutive top-10 finish at his position in fantasy football. Kittle and the 49ers have a divisional matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on tap for Week 5. Seattle's defense is among the best in the league, but in Week 2 the Cardinals found a way to get Trey McBride eight catches and a touchdown. San Francisco will need to keep Kittle involved to compete with the Seahawks on Sunday. Despite the challenging matchup, Kittle is a must-start.

Tyler Loop is a Mid-Tier Kicking Option in Week 5
Baltimore Ravens kicker Tyler Loop drilled a 64-yard field goal and made all three extra-point attempts against the Tennessee Titans in Week 4. Loop did miss a 40-yard field goal wide left late in the fourth quarter, but the hold on that attempt may have been an issue. Loop should benefit from the controlled environment inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta against the Falcons in Week 5, with the second-year kicker making six of seven field goals and all six extra points across his young career playing indoors. However, the Ravens offense gets a slight downgrade with two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson (ankle) missing Week 5 due to injury. Veteran backup quarterback Tyler Huntley will step in for Lamar, but he's far less efficient and effective than the team's starter, which could stall drives inside Loop's field goal range. Even so, Loop is RotoBaller's sixth-overall kicker for Week 5 and, with the Ravens on a late bye week, he profiles as a long-term hold option for managers who want to avoid streaming the position.
