Staying healthy has always been a concern for Hicks, so it was actually encouraging to see him play in 54 games in 2020, but he had to make some swing adjustments from the lingering effects of Tommy John surgery. The strikeout rate zoomed to 19.4% and he hit just .225. His Launch Angle was lowered to 6.9. But he was still strong from an on-base perspective with a .379 OBP and his BB% pf 19.4 was among the very best in the league. Hicks' xBA was a more respectable .257. His Exit Velocity of 88.2 was pretty much in line with his norms. Hicks will occupy a key spot in the top half of the Yankees lineup and you can likely expect a return back to the type of numbers where you are getting double figures in steals and homers and hopefully a BA that won't be a drag on your overall team average. If you are more dependent on the OBP production he should continue to be a decent depth outfielder for you. Hicks' ADP reflects that you cannot expect much upside and you will always be concerned about his availability. How much you want him for a final outfield spot will be tied to your league scoring rules. Standard 5 x 5 roto managers are less likely to be enticed by Hicks.--Scott Engel - RotoBaller
