The San Francisco 49ers placed rookie defensive back Darrell Luter Jr. (undisclosed) on the Physically Unable to Perform list on Tuesday, according to the league's transaction wire. The team can place Luter on the active PUP list at the start of training camp next week. The PUP list is open to players who suffered football-related injuries in the offseason, and players can be activated from the list at any time. The 23-year-old was a fifth-round pick this year out of South Alabama, and he should give the 49ers more depth in the secondary when he's ready to play. In three collegiate seasons, Luter had 91 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 18 passes defensed, five interceptions and a forced fumble.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
