1 year agoThe San Francisco 49ers carried three quarterbacks last year and still didn't have enough to get through the NFC Championship game. They will likely keep three QBs again this year, even if a quarterback-needy team makes a substantial offer for Trey Lance this summer. Veteran Brandon Allen is a solid fourth option and would likely get picked up by another club if he was let go, but the 49ers wouldn't mind having someone with his experience on the practice squad. Brock Purdy (elbow) appears on track to be ready for the start of the regular season, and the Niners have been very impressed by Sam Darnold this offseason, so the team could be more open to trading Lance as Week 1 gets closer. Lance's long-term fantasy outlook would look better if he is moved.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
