ANALYSIS: The New England Patriots defense hasn't exactly set the fantasy football world on fire through the first two weeks of the season. The Pats have managed just 11 total fantasy points this year in standard leagues. However, we must consider that the unit has opened the season by squaring off against two of the NFL's best offenses in the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins.
This New England DST unit draws a true breakout matchup in Week 3, as they are set to face the Zach Wilson-led New York Jets. Since Aaron Rodgers was lost for the season at the outset of the opener, Wilson has struggled to find any rhythm under center. The much-maligned Jets quarterback has been turnover-prone in his two 2023 starts and has already tossed four INTs on just 48 pass attempts.
We can expect Bill Belichick and the Patriots' defense to make life very hard for Wilson in their Week 3 divisional tilt. The juicy matchup against the Jets vaults the New England D/ST into the top five among fantasy options at the position this week. New England is a "must start" unit in this spot.
