MLB DFS Picks Today: Daily Fantasy Baseball Strategy and Tips For FanDuel, DraftKings (7/28/25)

Jamie's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Monday, 7/28/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

It's Monday, and more importantly, it's officially trade deadline week! This should be a fun one leading up to Thursday's deadline, and be sure to join us in RotoBaller's Discord channel as we'll be talking about the fallout of any potential deals that happen and how they'll affect DFS for the day.

Tonight's slate is big for a Monday, as we have 12 games to tackle on the main slate. There are five starting pitchers that are over $10K on both sites, so lineup building could be a bit tricky (especially on DK, where you need two). Again, we'll be working hard for you in the Discord channel.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 7/28/2025, with the slate starting at 7:05 PM EST. The lineup picks will showcase elite players, mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jacob deGrom, SP - TEX ($10,300 DK/$10,600 FD)

In one of the better feel-good stories of the season, Jacob deGrom continues to return to greatness with a 10-2 record, 2.28 ERA, and 0.90 WHIP. Even though he's not striking out batters at the elite clip he did at his peak, he's at a more-than-respectable 26.9% K rate this season and gets the matchup we want today.

The Angels have been better as of late, but they still have the highest K rate against RHP in the majors (I used to write "by far" with that, but the Rockies have caught up with them). Even with Mike Trout back and Jo Adell having figured out baseball, this is still a team to target with a righty pitcher.

DeGrom actually had a "blip" against these Angels three starts ago with three runs allowed in five innings and only five Ks, but he's actually been a better pitcher at home this year. Despite the park factor not working in his favor, deGrom has a 2.73 FIP and 32.7% K rate at home against a 2.97 FIP and 28% K rate on the road.

Chase Burns, SP - CIN ($7,500 DK/$8,100 FD)

This pick is not for the faint of heart. I'm asking you to take a rookie pitcher facing the Dodgers (5.1 IRT) who will be getting an insane park upgrade going from L.A. to Cincinnati. Furthermore, I'm asking you to trust a guy to navigate Shohei Ohtani potentially three times.

Is it worth it? For Chase Burns' price tag, it certainly is. Other than the "pitch tipping" game against Boston, Burns has registered strikeout totals of 8, 7, 10, and 10. His K rate in the majors is currently a robust 35%, and it's backed by a 28.7% CSW. It's rare to find that upside for such a cheap price tag.

This may not be the safest route to go for cash, but even there, Burns' price tag warrants consideration as your SP2. Even if he were to give up four to five runs, an eight-to-10 strikeout day would more than mitigate it, and the Dodgers still have a K rate above the league average against RHP.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Nick Kurtz, 1B - ATH ($5,600 DK/$4,200 FD)

What has two thumbs and rostered Nick Kurtz's four-HR game multiple times in GPP? THIS GUY! But seriously, folks, Kurtz may have wrapped up the Rookie of the Year award in one game. Now he gets to return home to his Triple-A home park amidst an insane hot streak where he has a 1.082 SLG% in the month of July.

Luis Castillo is a quality pitcher for the Mariners, but Kurtz's bat is on another level, right, especially in the platoon split. The rookie southpaw has battered RHP to the tune of a .498 wOBA and .427 ISO this season, which is utterly bananas. His price is no longer discounted at all, but he's still worth it.

Cal Raleigh, C - SEA ($6,300 DK/$4,300 FD)

It hurts the Yankee fan in me to say it, but the Aaron Judge injury has really opened the MVP door for Cal Raleigh. The Big Dumper has homered in two straight games, bringing his total to a whopping 41 dingers on the season. Paying $6,300 for a catcher seems bonkers, but Raleigh is certainly worth it.

Seattle is traveling to the A's Triple-A park and will take on JP Sears, who has a 4.93 FIP and 28.3% GB rate this season. Raleigh has a .348 ISO from the right side of the plate this season, and 16 of his 41 homers have come off lefties despite having 157 fewer at-bats as a righty.

In cash, it probably makes more sense to use Mitch Garver as your catcher (he's half the price with the same matchup), but don't leave your GPP Mariners stacks without Raleigh.

Corey Seager, SS - TEX ($4,800 DK/$3,200 FD)

Corey Seager has really lit it up in July. He currently has a 26-game on-base streak and is crushing a 1.148 OPS over that span. He'll get a park downgrade traveling from Texas to Los Angeles, but the weather is supposed to be hot, and the matchup is prime.

Jack Kochanowicz will be on the hill for the Angels, and he's allowed a .383 wOBA and 2.08 HR/9 to lefty bats with only a 15.4% K rate against them. Seager has a solid .388 wOBA and .242 ISO against RHP this season, and has a shot at five plate appearances on the road.

  • Matt Olson, 1B - ATL ($5,400 DK/$3,500 FD)
  • Austin Riley, 3B - ATL ($4,200 DK/$3,000 FD)
  • Mitch Garver, C - SEA ($3,400 DK/$2,500 FD)

 

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Shohei Ohtani, 1B/OF (DK), OF (FD) - LAD ($6,600 DK/$4,600 FD)

With Judge on the shelf, the top OF spot is generally going to be Ohtani's to lose unless he has a really tough matchup. I did write up Burns earlier, but that should certainly not preclude you from using Ohtani in all formats if you can afford him.

The two-way sensation is well on his way to another NL MVP with 38 homers and a .993 OPS. He's striking out at a higher clip this year, which gives him downside against Burns, but Ohtani has slammed RHP for a .448 wOBA and .393 ISO.

Randy Arozarena, OF - SEA ($5,000 DK/$3,300 FD)

Seattle is the team du jour tonight, as they get to tee off against Sears in a bandbox of a park. Randy Arozarena is quietly having a really strong season with 20 homers and 17 steals, and he's got an .819 OPS to support his power. He still strikes out a lot, but it's less of a worry against Sears.

Arozarena should hit right after Cal Raleigh, and his price tag isn't quite as prohibitive (especially on FD, where it's downright cheap). He's been strong against lefties this year, with a .364 wOBA and .230 ISO.

Roman Anthony, OF - BOS ($3,900 DK/$2,700 FD)

Roman Anthony has arrived! The top-rated rookie for Boston now seems to be in the leadoff spot, which gives him a solid chance at five plate appearances on the road. The Red Sox have an IRT of 4.8 runs against Simeon Woods Richardson, and there's a chance some of the better Twins relievers could be dealt by gametime.

Anthony has a solid .809 OPS thus far in the bigs, and he's been very strong in the platoon split with a .405 wOBA and .202 ISO. The power hasn't shown yet in the box score, but Anthony also has an elite 49.5% HHR against righties. He's very affordable on both sites and is one of the strongest cash plays this evening.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Seattle Mariners vs JP Sears

As you've probably guessed during the course of reading this article, Seattle takes the top stack spot. They'll get an unbelievable park upgrade traveling from Seattle to the Athletics, and face Sears, who has a 4.93 FIP and under a 30% GB rate. There's power and speed up and down the top end of this lineup

Favorite Combo: Crawford, Rodriguez, Raleigh, Arozarena

2. Atlanta Braves vs Rich Hill

The Braves had no individual write-ups for this article, but I think I scattered their entire stack throughout the "other plays" section. Atlanta will be taking on Rich Hill, who I think is entering something like his 47th season of pitching. Hill had a 4.87 FIP in his last full season of pitching, and the Braves have righty power to attack him with.

Favorite Combo: Acuna, Olson, Profar, Riley

3. Boston Red Sox vs Simeon Woods Richardson

If you want an upside stack that won't break the bank and allow you some more expensive pitching, Boston looks like the go-to. They'll take on Woods Richardson, and it's expected to be hot and humid in Minnesota tonight. If the Twins trade any of their elite relievers before the game, the matchup increases even more.
