MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/18/24) - Today's Top Lineups

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on September 18, 2024. Mike Barner's MLB DFS sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

All 30 teams will be in action Wednesday, leaving plenty of baseball to enjoy. The main evening slates on DraftKings and FanDuel will be made up of 12 games each.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 9/18/2024, with the slate starting at 6:35 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Sonny Gray vs. PIT ($9,400 DraftKings; $10,900 FanDuel)

This game, being in St. Louis, is noteworthy for Gray. He has a 2.32 FIP and a 0.95 WHIP at home, compared to a 4.29 FIP and a 1.21 WHIP on the road. The last time he faced the Pirates, he allowed one run and recorded nine strikeouts over seven innings at home. Don’t be surprised if he produces a similar stat line in this rematch.

Cody Bradford vs. TOR ($8,100 DraftKings; $8,600 FanDuel)

Bradford faced the Diamondbacks in his last start. They have scored the most runs in baseball and hammered Bradford for eight runs over 3.2 innings. However, Bradford had a 2.88 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP over his previous seven outings. This is a favorable bounce-back spot for him versus the Blue Jays, who have the third-worst OPS in baseball against left-handed pitchers.

Jose Quintana vs. WAS ($6,500 DraftKings; $9,600 FanDuel)

Quintana has owned the Nationals this season. In both outings against them, he logged seven scoreless innings. He allowed a total of just five hits and four walks. The Nationals have the sixth-worst OPS in baseball versus left-handed pitchers. Quintana has an especially cheap salary on DraftKings, making him even more appealing there.

Also consider: Dylan Cease vs. HOU, Nestor Cortes Jr. at SEA

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Willy Adames – SS, MIL vs. Aaron Nola ($4,800 DK; $3,600 FD)

Adames has a .863 OPS against right-handed pitchers this year, compared to a .595 OPS versus lefties. He has also produced a higher OPS at home (.832) than he has on the road (.776). Nola might seem like a difficult matchup, but he has a 4.32 FIP and a 1.34 WHIP on the road this season. He’s no reason to shy away from deploying Adames.

Mark Vientos – 1B/3B, NYM vs. DJ Herz ($4,500 DK; $3,200 FD)

There are two splits working in Vientos’ favor for this matchup. He has a 158 wRC+ at home, compared to a 111 wRC+ on the road. He also has a 167 wRC+ versus left-handed pitchers, compared to a 120 wRC+ versus righties. As good as Herz has been down the stretch, Vientos is still worth considering in tournament play,

Jackson Holliday – 2B/SS, BAL vs. Hayden Birdsong ($3,900 DK; $2,700 FD)

It has been a struggle for Birdsong, who has a 1.42 WHIP across 13 starts with the Giants. Over 57 innings, he has issued 36 walks and given up 10 home runs. Holliday is slumping right now, but four of his five home runs have come against right-handed pitchers. He could be worth taking a chance on in tournament play at his cheap salary.

Also consider: Gunnar Henderson, Matt Olson, Connor Norby

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Kyle Schwarber – OF, PHI vs. Freddy Peralta ($6,100 DK; $3,900 FD)

A concern with Peralta is that he has given up 1.7 HR/9 at home this year compared to 1.0 HR/9 on the road. That fits right into the wheelhouse of Schwarber, who has 35 home runs. He has hit 24 of his 35 home runs against right-handed pitchers. He’ll need to go deep five more times to post his third straight season with at least 40 home runs.

Teoscar Hernandez – OF, LAD vs. Ryan Weathers ($4,700 DK; $3,400 FD)

Hernandez recently missed four games with an ankle injury. He has at least one hit in each of his six games since returning, hitting a combined 8-for-23 with a home run and two doubles. He has the potential to stay hot against Weathers, considering that Hernandez has a .281 ISO and .399 wOBA versus left-handed pitchers this year.

Tommy Edman – OF/2B/SS, LAD vs. Ryan Weathers ($4,000 DK; $3,200 FD)

Edman is locked in right now, hitting 13-for-39 (.333) with five home runs and three doubles over his last 10 games. He has a staggering 252 wRC+ versus left-handed pitchers this year. Even though he has only appeared in 26 games, his success against lefties is nothing new. He has a career 123 wRC+ against them, compared to a 92 wRC+ versus righties.

Also consider: Cedric Mullins, Heliot Ramos, Alec Burleson

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Dodgers vs. Ryan Weathers

  • Favorite Plays: Mookie Betts, Teoscar Hernandez, Tommy Edman

2. Orioles vs. Hayden Birdsong

  • Favorite Plays: Gunnar Henderson, Cedric Mullins, Jackson Holliday

3. Phillies vs. Freddy Peralta
