MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (10/30/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Freddie Freeman - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, MLB News

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on October 30, 2024. Mike Barner's MLB DFS sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

The Yankees were able to stave off elimination Tuesday, setting up Game 5 of the World Series on Wednesday. The extension of the series also provides us with another opportunity to play the single-game DFS contests on DraftKings and FanDuel.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/30/2024, with the slate beginning at 8:08 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

Good luck, RotoBallers!

Pitchers - MLB DFS Showdown Picks

You can't roster pitchers on FanDuel, just five hitters. But both starting pitchers are in the player pool on DraftKings.

Gerrit Cole vs. LAD ($11,400 DK; $17,100 DK CPT, NA FD)

The Yankees will send their ace to the mound as they try to send the World Series back to Los Angeles. Cole was excellent in Game 1, allowing one run, four hits, and no walks over six innings. He did only have four strikeouts and has not recorded more than four strikeouts in any of his four starts during the Yankees playoff run. Still, he hasn’t given up more than two runs in any of his last three outings.

Jack Flaherty at NYY ($11,000 DK; $16,500 DK CPT, NA FD)

Flaherty also pitched well in Game 1, allowing two runs and recording six strikeouts across 5.1 innings. He has had an inconsistent playoff run, which included him allowing eight runs over three innings in a start against the Mets. He has also given up at least one home run in three of his four starts. The Yankees lineup finally came alive Tuesday, so Flaherty could have his hands full trying to quiet them again.

Top Hitters - MLB DFS Showdown Picks

Juan Soto – OF, NYY vs. Jack Flaherty ($9,400 DK; $14,100 DK CPT, $9,000 FD)

Soto has been one of the few reliable hitters in the Yankees lineup this postseason. In the World Series, he is 4-for-14 with a home run and a double. He also has five walks and just two strikeouts. With his 1.079 OPS in the playoffs this year, he has the potential to be well worth his hefty price tag.

Freddie Freeman – 1B, LAD vs. Gerrit Cole ($8,800 DK; $13,200 DK CPT, $8,500 FD)

Freeman is on an all-time playoff heater right now. Not only does he have at least one hit in every game of the World Series, but he also has at least one home run in each game. He hasn’t even struck out one time against the Yankees. When he played in the World Series in 2021 with the Braves, he posted a .996 OPS. Freeman seems to shine when the lights are the brightest.

Also consider: Mookie Betts, Giancarlo Stanton

Top Value - MLB DFS Showdown Picks

Tommy Edman – SS/2B/OF, LAD vs. Gerrit Cole ($6,800 DK; $10,200 DK CPT, $6,500 FD)

Edman has been a menace at the bottom of the Dodgers lineup, going 4-for-12 with a home run, two doubles, and three walks in the World Series. He now has a .902 OPS during the Dodgers playoff run, which has included him recording seven multi-hit games.

Given the opportunity that he has to score runs with Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts hitting behind him when the lineup turns over, Edman could provide significant value.

Anthony Volpe – SS, NYY vs. Jack Flaherty ($6,400 DK; $9,600 DK CPT, $6,000 FD)

Volpe was the hero of Game 4, hitting a grand slam that propelled the Yankees to victory. In addition to his home run, he hit a double, scored three runs, and stole two bases. While that was his first playoff home run, he does have a .407 OBP in the postseason. Given his cheap salary on both sites, he could be well worth the risk.

Also consider: Will Smith, Austin Wells
