MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (10/14/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Juan Soto - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on October 14, 2024. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS sleepers picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Only four teams are in the hunt for a title, and all are in action today. Game 1 of the ALCS between the Guardians and Yankees is at Yankee Stadium. Game 2 of the NLCS between the Dodgers and Mets is at Dodger Stadium. The Mets lost Game 1 9-0 last night.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on Monday, October 14, 2024, with the slate starting at 4:08 p.m. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Carlos Rodon vs. CLE ($8.5K DraftKings; $9.2K FanDuel)

Honestly, every pitcher on this slate has flaws. The Dodgers are going full bullpen game just like they did in Game 4 of the NLDS against San Diego. Only one pitcher went more than one inning in that game. That really leaves us only three pitchers to choose from.

Cleveland did hit lefties well, and Rodon lost his only postseason start so far, allowing four runs in 3 2/3 innings against the Royals. Rodon still struck out seven batters in that game, so we'll use him based on strikeout potential alone.

Sean Manaea at LAD ($8.2K DraftKings; $9K FanDuel)

Manaea faced the Dodgers once this year, allowing two runs in five innings while striking out three. He's the cash play on FanDuel. I would expect another solid outing from Manaea, but he doesn't have the strikeout upside of Rodon.

Also consider: Alex Cobb at NYY ($7.5K DK,8.4K FD )

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Gleyber Torres – 2B, NYY vs. Alex Cobb ($4.3K DK; $2.9K FD)

Torres went 3-for-15 with five walks, a double, a homer, four runs scored, and three RBI against the Royals in the ALDS. Cobb was solid in his four starts this year, but don't expect him to go deep in the game. Torres should get a few at-bats against the bullpen, too.

Will Smith – C, LAD vs. Sean Manaea ($4K DK; $3.3K FD)

That post says it all. Though Smith struggled in October, he crushed Manaea in his career. There are worse options, and even on small slates on FanDuel, many users will not run a catcher in their lineups. That can be a huge advantage.

Kike Hernandez – 1B/2B/3B/SS/OF, LAD vs. Sean Manaea ($3.1K DK; $2.6K FD)

Kike is eligible at every position but catcher on FD, so you can find room for him somewhere. Hernandez is a career .281 hitter in 192 postseason at-bats with 14 homers and 30 RBI. He shines brightest when the lights are on him.

This postseason has been no different. Hernandez has had five hits in the last three games, with a home run and four runs scored.

Also consider: Shohei Ohtani, Jose Ramirez, Mark Vientos

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Juan Soto – OF, NYY vs. Alex Cobb ($6K DK, $4.5K FD)

Soto has smashed Cobb in his career, but he could see more at-bats against the Cleveland bullpen. Both Soto and Aaron Judge are good picks here, but I'm going with Soto's track record against Cobb.

Mookie Betts – 2B/SS/OF, LAD vs. Sean Manaea ($5.3K DK; $4.2K FD)

We saved all that money on infielders so we can go big in the outfield. Mookie had two homers and three RBI in the NLDS against San Deigo and drove in three runs in Game 1 of the NLCS last night. That said, I would only use Mookie if you don't run Manaea. You don't want three Dodgers in your lineup against him.

Lane Thomas – OF, CLE vs. Carlos Rodon ($4.2K DK; 3.6K FD)

Thomas had an inauspicious start in Cleveland, but all is forgiven. He had two homers and nine RBI in the five NLDS games against Detroit. If anyone gets to Rodon, it will be Lane.

Also consider: Aaron Judge, Brandon Nimmo, J.D. Martinez

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Yankees vs. Alex Cobb

2. Dodgers. vs. Sean Manaea

  • Favorite Plays: Will Smith, Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, Kike Hernandez, Teoscar Hernandez

3. Mets vs. Dodgers bullpen
