MLB Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks - FanDuel Baseball Advice for 4/20/16

Welcome back FanDuelers! We have a full slate of games today, with early games starting at 12:35 ET along with the main slate at 7:05 ET. Keep that in mind as you choose tourneys and select your players. Nothing worse than guessing whether you're fringe player will get a start.

The theme for today is pitching, and lots of it. Chris Sale, Chris Archer, Madison Bumgarner, Cole Hamels, Jordan Zimmermann, Danny Salazar, Carlos Martinez. There's more than that too. If you decide to go the value route, they better pile up the Ks (cough Drew Pomeranz). Otherwise, pay up for the ace.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 4/20/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Cardinals versus Kyle Hendricks

Hendricks has performed nicely to this point (2.84 ERA) and the Cardinals just got held to one run on Tuesday, so at first glance this seems counter intuitive. Hendricks, owner of a 4.91 ERA at Busch Stadium, has struggled versus current Cardinals, including Matt Carpenter (6-for-10) and Matt Holliday (6-for-12, 2 HR). If you are playing an early-slate, the Cardinals are a must have.

Athletics left-handed batter versus Nathan Eovaldi

Eovaldi has been nothing short of awful to start the year, posting a 6.94 ERA in 11.2 innings with four HR allowed. Given the short porch in right at Yankee Stadium, this is a no-brainer. Grab a share of Josh Reddick, Stephen Vogt, and Billy Burns.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

You don't need me to tell you Bumgarner or Sale is a good play. You know that. But here are some other options that won't kill your budget.

Danny Salazar (SP, CLE) - $9,200

Salazar has scored 56 and 47 points in his first two starts and has a 13.09 K/9 so far. The Mariners have struggled offensively and Salazar will likely be ignored on tonight's heavy pitching slate.

Joe Ross (SP, WAS) - $7,500

Ross has had a strong start to the year, posting a 2-0 record and 0.64 ERA in two starts. Ross faced the Marlins last week and was excellent (7 IP, ER, 5 K). He won't be available for under $8,000 his next start.

Drew Pomeranz (SP, SD) - $6,200

If you're going to play the GPP card here it is. Pomeranz has a 12.09 K/9 so far and has looked very impressive in two starts, which includes a trip to Coors. The walks are an issue, but FanDuel doesn't punish you for WHIP. Here's your route to buying bats.

Also Consider: Chris Sale (SP, CWS) - $12,000 (cash) and Ian Kennedy (SP, KC) - $8,200 (GPP)

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher  (C)

Tony Wolters (C, COL) - $2,500

In next man up fashion, Wolters has held his own in Nick Hundley's absence. He has an uncharacteristic three steals so far but a .278 slugging percentage. He's not the sexiest pick, but he's my early-only play.

First Base (1B)

Lucas Duda (1B, NYM) - $2,700

Duda is en fuego. He has two home runs and six RBI in his last three games and gets another righty today. At $2.7K I'll take my chances.

Second Base (2B)

Ian Kinsler (2B, DET) - $3,900

Kinsler is hitting .340 in April and is 6-for-11 lifetime versus Ian Kennedy. It's a high price tag, but that should lower ownership.

Also Consider: Neil Walker (2B, NYM) - $2,900

Shortstop (SS)

Eduardo Nunez (SS, MIN) - $2,900

The new Twins leadoff hitter is hitting .545 with three steals in April and .778 since taking over the leadoff spot. This is a no-brainer.

Also Consider: Javier Baez (SS, CHC) - $2,400 (If he starts)

Third Base

(3B) Travis Shaw (3B, BOS) - $3,000

The Mayor of Ding Dong City (cc: Barstool Sports) is hitting .342 this year and has an RBI in four of his last five games. Chris Archer isn't the best matchup, but he did hold his own in their first matchup (1-for-2, 2 BB, 2B).

Also Consider: Matt Carpenter (3B, STL) - $4,400

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Bryce Harper (OF, WAS) - $5,900

If you go cheap at pitching, you have to roster Bryce Harper. I don't care what your excuse is. The man is in a league of his own right now. He has six HR in his last seven games and at least one RBI in all seven of those games. Just play the beast.

George Springer (OF, HOU) - $3,700

Springer is working on a four game hitting streak with a home run in each of his past three. Cole Hamels isn't the ideal scenario, but Springer has crushed lefties in his career (.890 OPS).

Matt Kemp (OF, SD) - $3,800

Kemp has hit .577 lifetime versus Jeff Locke and crushes lefties, but this is a gut play. Kemp is due for a breakout and I'm calling it's tonight.

Also Consider: Michael Conforto (OF, NYM) - $2,800, Nick Markakis (OF, ATL) - $3,500
