Luke Schoonmaker is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for running backs. John breaks down if you should add Luke Schoonmaker off waivers for Week 3 of 2024.
BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues (14+ Team) Or As Handcuff
ROSTERED IN: 4% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Dallas Cowboys tight end Luke Schoonmaker filled in nicely in the absence of Jake Ferguson, catching all six of his targets for six receptions and 43 yards. He hasn't made an impact at any point in his career, though, and Ferguson is the clear No. 1 tight end, so he's best used for streaming until Ferguson returns.
Ferguson owners can pick up Schoonmaker to make up part of the production Ferguson could've had until Ferguson returns. Schoonmaker doesn't hold much value outside of that. He seems to be occupying the same role in the offense that Ferguson had, which is fine.

Ferguson's return will likely spell the end of Schoonmaker's chance at fantasy relevance, so if you're not a Ferguson owner, there's not much value to be added to your team by picking him up unless you're in a deep league and need a streaming option.
