BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 1% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: It sounds ridiculous, but Kendrick Bourne accrued more than 33% of his total PPR points this season in last Saturday's matchup against the Bengals alone. Of course, this being Bourne, that makes a bit of sense compared to, say, what that would have meant in the case of a superstar like Justin Jefferson. In other words, Bourne scored 24.9 FP last weekend compared to 50.1 in all games before that one combined.
Bourne had a near-perfect game on Saturday. He got targeted 9 times, hauled in 6 receptions, racked up a crisp 100 yards, and scored his first touchdown of the season. Not bad for someone coming off a goose-egg Week 15 in which he played all of 11 snaps and got targeted once.
Although I decided to write this post ahead of Week 17 just in case you are hurting for WR help in your superdeep league, you shouldn't get carried away by Bourne's Week 16 stat line. Again, Bourne scored 24.9 PPR points (a surefire top-12 WR finish any week) against Cincy but prior to that, he had topped at 9.7 PPR points in Week 14 going 5-for-5 for 47 yards.
All things considered, though, and if you are really needy at the position you can do worse than rostering Bourne. While he's never quite excelled and he's already 27, Bourne is the lone viable receiver under contract on the Patriots' sheets for next year. They need to keep playing him and making the most of paying him. He's going nowhere next season nor ROS.
