Jeremy McNichols is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for running backs. John reveals whether you should target him as a free-agent add off waivers for Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Don't Add

ANALYSIS: Washington Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols had a great game in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals, scoring 20.40 PPR fantasy points by way of eight rushes for 68 yards and two touchdowns along with one reception on one target for six yards.
What McNichols showed was that the Arizona Cardinals have a horrible defense and Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury's run schemes are fantastic. He may have also shown that the Commanders RB2, Austin Ekeler, was coasting off the run schemes and excellent blocking.
.@Commanders no @AustinEkeler no problem...in steps @JeremyMcNichols 9th team in 8 years. Definition of resilient and hopefully a Game Ball. #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/XEYwiEoyFt

Ekeler missed Week 4 with a concussion, but usually, players don't miss two weeks or more with that injury. He's likely to return for Week 5. McNichols probably doesn't see any more volume. He may have only seen much work since it was a blowout win anyway.
He's not worth adding yet. There's not much to suggest he will challenge Ekeler for the RB2 spot. That backfield could turn into a disgusting three-way committee. He's a player to keep an eye on, but probably not worth a roster spot yet.
