BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team PPR Leagues
ROSTERED: 1% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The backup running back to Derrick Henry won't be asked to do a lot of running, evidenced by Jeremy McNichols' mere 29 yards rushing on only six tries this year, lagging considerably behind his pace set from the backfield last season when we were also taking note of how few carries he got. That's probably just fine if you ask McNichols, who after this past week's 12 target, eight catch, 74 receiving yard game against the Jets now ranks third for the entire Titan offense in yards receiving (134, behind only Julio Jones and Chester Rogers), first in targets (21), and first in receptions (15), while being one of four players with a receiving touchdown for Tennessee to this point in the season.
While it's well taken that both Julio and A.J. Brown were out against the Jets this week, that's usually the benefit of being at a stage in your career where durability isn't a huge issue, and so whether it's in games where the Titans are short a WR or two, games where the backfield passes aren't well guarded, or games where the top wideouts are extremely well-guarded, those are all opportunities for a big day as a Titan RB without ever being handed the ball, and the team looking a tad confused as to its receiving options past the fourth man for the time being leaves the former Boise State back in excellent position to maintain his current role, build on comfort level, and ultimately expand on his opportunities. Even if he runs for no more than 5 yards in any game for the rest of 2021, Jeremy McNichols is seeing more than enough work from the air to exceed expectations in a deeper PPR format.
