BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 21% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: This is the second season of Jared Goff in Detroit. This is, also, the nth season in which fantasy GMs are basically not trusting Goff just one bit. If you ask me though, I think the criticism is too loud definitely a little bit out of place. Goff might not be a top-12 QB but he's definitely more than someone to be left unrostered in nearly four of every five Yahoo leagues.
Goff finished eight of 14 games inside the top-18 weekly QBs last year. He's done so twice this season in his first two games of the 2022 campaign. He went for 15.5 FP in W1 and he nearly doubled that figure this past Sunday with his 26.0 FP against Washington.
If you're reading this, that's probably because you are needy at the QB position. If that's the case, then you shouldn't be one of those folks out there not wanting to touch Goff with a ten-foot pole because he's all you need to fix your problems at the position.
See, the Lions might suck as a team, but they have two very outstanding receivers in DJ Chark and Amon-Ra St. Brown that will elevate Goff weekly.
Goff completed 21 passes in W1 and 20 in W2 reaching 215 and 256 passing yards respectively. Those numbers aren't gaudy, but Goff just keeps things efficient on the field. He completed two touchdown passes to kick the year off, then launched four (!) touchdowns in Week 2. He's only thrown one interception and fumbled once (both in Week 1).
Only Lamar Jackson (38) has thrown 6+ TDs this season while completing fewer passes than Goff (41). Only Patrick Mahomes (74) has attempted more passes than Goff (71) without getting picked once. Doesn't sound that bad, does it?
