James Cook start 'em, sit 'em fantasy football lineup picks for Wild Card Weekend. Should you start or sit James Cook in playoffs fantasy football lineups (2023)?
BALLER MOVE: Start in All Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB1
ANALYSIS: Buffalo Bills running back James Cook had an outstanding sophomore NFL year. He was the RB11 during the regular season, averaging 12.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. While the running back had only two rushing touchdowns, he found a way to produce for fantasy players.
During the fantasy football playoffs, Cook was a bust. The second-year player destroyed the Dallas Cowboys’ defense in Week 15, totaling 179 rushing yards, a touchdown, and 35.1 fantasy points, all season highs. However, he had only 9.9 fantasy points over the next two weeks, likely crushing title hopes for many.
After their impressive Week 18 win over the Miami Dolphins, the Bills are the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs and host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. The weather for this game will be awful for throwing the ball, with heavy snow expected. Yet, the NFL reportedly will not relocate or reschedule this game.
The Steelers surrendered 20.8 fantasy points per game to running backs during the regular season, the 12th-most in the NFL. While the weather isn’t ideal for the wide receivers in this game, expect Josh Allen and Cook to see a massive workload on the ground.
