Jake Browning start 'em, sit 'em fantasy football lineup picks for Week 16. Should you start or sit Jake Browning in Week 16 (2023) fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12-Team Leagues/Start in Superflex Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: QB2
ANALYSIS: Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Jake Browning has been surprisingly great for fantasy football since taking over for Joe Burrow (wrist). In his last three games, Browning is averaging over 23 fantasy points. He has finished as the QB4 or higher in each week over that span.
With Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd, and Joe Mixon in the same offense, he has been spectacular, completing over 75% of his passes. Unfortunately, his run of fantasy upside could come to an end in Week 16.
Chase (shoulder) will not play against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, and Mike Tomlin's stop unit has allowed the 11th-fewest fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. In Browning's first start of the year, he scored just 13 fantasy points at home against the Steelers. This AFC North bout will be in Pittsburgh.
Although the Steelers have surrendered solid games to Gardner Minshew and Bailey Zappe in recent weeks, the matchup is concerning. Ultimately, Browning still has some upside and should not be avoided in 2QB or Superflex leagues, but there are plenty of options in single-QB leagues since no teams are on a bye.
