Isiah Pacheco's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 18 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit Isiah Pacheco for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3
ANALYSIS: Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco has been a fantasy star in his second NFL season. The former Rutgers running back is the RB13 for the year, averaging 13.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game despite missing time with injuries. Last week, he had his way with the Cincinnati Bengals, totaling 165 offensive yards on 25 touches for 26 fantasy points, a season-high.
Pacheco has dealt with multiple injuries this year. He was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice because of quad and shoulder injuries. Head coach Andy Reid has already announced that Patrick Mahomes won’t play Sunday in a meaningless game for Kansas City.
The Chiefs are locked into the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoffs, making this week’s matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers pointless for both teams. Fantasy players should expect Pacheco to either miss the game or play only a series or two before sitting on the bench. Jerick McKinnon is on injured reserve, making Pacheco’s value to the team more significant.
It is unfortunate that the Chiefs have nothing to play for this week. Pacheco would have had a field day against a Charger defense that surrendered 14 fantasy points to the star running back in Week 7.
