Is Chris Godwin Out for the 2025 Season?
Despite being shut down for the entire second half of the 2024 season and being limited in training camp, Godwin is not expected to miss the 2025 season. In fact, the veteran recently passed his physical and was activated off the PUP list, which means he is not in any danger of missing the entire season.
While he could eventually suffer a setback, for now, Godwin remains on track to make his season debut in the near future.
Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he begins to increase his workload.

Chris Godwin 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook
Despite being activated off the PUP list, fantasy managers should not expect the veteran slot wide receiver to make his regular-season debut until October. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Godwin is not expected to be on the field until October. Schefter notes that Godwin is scheduled to begin practicing in Week 2.
Despite this, the team believes the 29-year-old remains on track to be cleared for game action in the next month.

While Godwin is expected to miss at least the first four weeks of the season, he is still worth targeting in fantasy drafts, especially in leagues that have IR spots. When healthy, Godwin has flashed immense upside and an elite floor in PPR formats.
In 2023, Godwin posted his third-straight 1,000-yard campaign as he totaled 1,024 yards on 83 receptions. He was on pace to smash these marks as he caught 50 passes through the first seven weeks in 2024.
While he remains sidelined, Mike Evans and rookie Emeka Egbuka are projected to lead the passing attack. When Godwin returns, fantasy managers should expect him to return to his typical role as the team's No. 2 wideout and possess high-end WR2 upside given his role in one of the most potent offensive units in the sport.
