BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 30% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The Ravens backfield has been a three-headed monster, or a three-headed mess, whether you like the most. Mark Ingram II, Gus Edwards, and J.K. Dobbins have shared snaps all season long, and none has been able to separate from the pack either in rushing or receiving. All three players have logged at least six games played, and have been part of between 108 and 190 combined snaps each this season (and those 108 are only because Ingram missed this Sunday's game). It's a headache, and you have to factor Lamar Jackson's rushing prowess into it too.
With Ingram out this weekend, it was all about Dobbins and Edwards, though. Edwards was never going to be a huge part of the passing game (he only has 4 targets in seven games...), but the projections spoke about Edwards carrying the ball more times than Dobbins, with the latter featuring more heavily on passing plays. That wasn't the case, though, with Edwards and Dobbins splitting carries: Gus rushed the ball 16 times for 87 yards while J.K. did so 15 times for 113 yards.
The difference between Edwards and Dobbins, and which enabled Gus to finish above him in PPR (14.7 to 13.1) was the touchdown Edwards scored on the ground. Not even one reception and 8 extra receiving yards helped Dobbins out-perform Edwards.
Even being more efficient, I don't Dobbins will be rushing the ball on par with Edwards going forward. As long as Ingram remains out, Edwards is a nice WW target and FLEX play mostly in standard leagues (when Ingram comes back, though, Edwards should lose half of his carries/upside). The matchup against Indy next weekend is bad (3rd-best defense against fantasy RBs), but before that Ingram might still be out and Baltimore faces just the 18th and 24th-best defenses vs. the position.
